Prison Ministry
About
To visit the imprisoned is a corporal work of mercy. Jesus mentioned it specifically when He said,
“’For I was hungry and you gave me food,…ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.’”
The Diocese of Trenton is committed to bringing God’s Word to the imprisoned and St. Francis has recently joined this effort. Volunteers are trained and go with a small group to meet with incarcerated people in a safe environment where they read and discuss the Gospel and participate in the Communion Rite of the Catholic Church.
