Reflection on the Season of Creation by  Kathryn Mignanelli

Thomas of Celano, St Francis’ biographer said, “He rejoiced in all the works of the Lord and saw behind things pleasant to behold their life- giving reason and cause ….all things were to him good.”

Like Francis, we too can see all things with the eyes of God. Sitting on a bench by the ocean we can be present to all the beauty around us- the roar of the ocean, the cry of a seagull, the feel of wind on your face, the sounds of delight uttered by little children. All these are gifts from our creator God to enjoy and protect. We pray that like Francis, we may recognize the face of God in all people, places and things and respond with love and care.
