Anointing of the Sick: A Moment of Healing and Grace
At today’s 11:30 AM Mass, parishioners at St. Francis of Assisi Parish had the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. Fr. Francis DiSpigno, OFM, presided over this special liturgy, offering a moment of prayer, healing, and grace to those seeking spiritual and physical strength.
The Anointing of the Sick is one of the seven sacraments of the Church, given to those who are ill, facing surgery, struggling with chronic conditions, or in need of spiritual healing. Through anointing with holy oil and prayers of the faithful, the sacrament provides comfort, renewal, and a deep connection to God’s healing presence.
This sacrament reminds us of Christ’s compassion and care for the suffering, offering strength and peace in times of hardship. It is a beautiful expression of faith, allowing individuals to experience God’s love and the support of the Church community.
We are grateful to Fr. Francis for leading this sacrament today, and we continue to pray for all those in need of healing. May the grace of the Anointing bring peace and restoration to all who received it.
