Of a Few Things
Fr. Francis Di Spigno, OFM,
Pastor
Hello Good People! I have a few things to share with you this week.
First of all, thank you to
everyone who came to the
Mid-Summer Retreat entitled, Our Franciscan Journey of Transformation, by Fr. Garrett Galvin, OFM. Garrett has been a good friend and brother for many years. I always appreciated his insights and
perspective. I hope those few days were helpful for those who participated in the retreat. As president of the Franciscan School of Theology, Garrett tries to use the summer months as a time to spread the Gospel beyond the academic setting. Thank you Garrett, for being with us and once again sharing your wisdom.
On Wednesday, Fr. Andrew left for St. Lawrence Friary in Beacon, NY. He was in good spirits and as he said to me before he left, “Well, let’s see what this will bring.” He also asked that I convey his thanks for all of the help and support. He wrote, “Thank you for your support, your cards, and your prayers. It’s been a long journey, but I feel your presence and that is what I need. One day at a time.”
If you would like to write to him he can be reached at:

Finally, the numbers are in for the Festival of the Sea 2025. We did very well this year. With a total profit of $80,787.41 we actually made $1,657.37 more than we did last year. That surprised me because we lost Tuesday night to heavy rain and thunderstorms. We owe a great thanks to our Sponsors for their generosity, the volunteers who came out every night to make sure our Festival would go on, and everyone who supported our annual Festival of the Sea. Thank you, one and all!!
I hope that you have a blessed week as we bring July to a close and enter into the month of August! Tempus fugit!!
Peace and All Good.
