Cross Bearer Ministry
About
The Cross Bearer leads the liturgical procession by reverently carrying the cross as a reminder of Jesus’ passion, death, and triumph. The Church uses the Cross bearer in its celebrations to bear this powerful symbol to remind us of our redemption through Christ’s suffering. When present, our altar servers carry the cross as part of their ministry.
We are welcoming youth and adults to join the Cross Bearer Ministry to ensure the cross is carried at all weekend liturgies.
The Cross Bearer needs to arrive 10-15 minutes early for Mass. The cross will lead the Mass procession at the beginning and end of assigned Masses. Anyone interested should have the ability to walk slowly and carry a cross raised for the entire procession.
